How Journey to Hired protects, uses, and enriches your Career Intelligence Record.

Last Updated: September 1, 2026

At Journey to Hired, we recognize that your career data is highly personal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect your professional history, goals, and readiness indicators to build your Career Intelligence Record and generate personalized career strategies.

1. Information We Collect

To create your personalized Journey, we collect specific information during account creation and onboarding. This includes:

  • Account Information: First name, last name, email address, and password.
  • Professional Foundation: Highest education, work history, internship history, professional skills, and certifications. You may also optionally upload a resume to allow our AI to extract this information.
  • Opportunity Preferences: Compensation expectations, and preferred work models (e.g., remote, hybrid, onsite).
  • Professional Readiness: Resume status, LinkedIn status, recent interview activity, and self-reported confidence scores in presenting, networking, and interviewing.

2. Automatic & Marketing Data

Separately from the Career Intelligence Record, we automatically collect a small amount of technical and marketing data when you visit our site or register an account:

  • Visit data: IP address, the page you landed on, and — if you arrived via an ad or campaign link — the UTM source that referred you (e.g. "google," "facebook," "newsletter").
  • Signup attribution: When you create an account, we record the IP address the registration came from and match it against your most recent tracked visit from that same IP, so we can tell which marketing channel likely brought you. This is a best-effort match, not a precise one — if you share a network or IP address with someone else (e.g. an office or public Wi-Fi), your account could occasionally be attributed to their visit instead of your own.
  • Conversion & analytics tools: We use Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising conversion tracking to measure ad performance, and Vercel Analytics for aggregate site usage. These do not build advertising profiles of you across other sites.

We use this data internally to understand which marketing channels work and to attribute individual signups for that purpose. We don't sell it or share it with data brokers.

3. The Career Intelligence Record

The data you provide is used to build your Career Intelligence Record, which serves as the permanent source of truth for your Journey to Hired experience.

"The platform should continuously help users: Improve information, Refine information, Expand information, Organize information, Leverage information."

We operate on a "Collect Once, Reuse Everywhere" principle. For example, a skill or career story entered once will support routing, future resume generation, LinkedIn generation, and interview preparation without requiring you to re-enter it.

4. Artificial Intelligence & Data Enrichment

Journey to Hired uses artificial intelligence to analyze, recommend, generate, personalize, and guide your search.

Our AI continuously enriches your Career Intelligence Record. For example, when you provide your experience or upload a resume, the platform identifies underlying skills, experience themes, and positioning opportunities to strengthen your profile.

The generated outputs—such as your Career Snapshot, Positioning Narrative, and Search Strategy—are stored as versioned, editable assets within your record.

5. Data Storage & Persistence

We store different types of data based on their purpose in your career journey:

Data TypeExamplesPersistence Model
Profile FoundationEducation, Work History, SkillsPermanent & Editable
Professional ReadinessInterview Activity, Confidence ScoresDynamic & Updated Regularly
Generated OutputsPositioning Narrative, Career SnapshotVersioned & Regenerable

6. Administrator Visibility & Institutional Access

To provide support and ensure platform efficacy, platform administrators have visibility into user records. Admins can view your profile foundation, opportunity preferences, career direction, readiness, assessment results, routing assignments, AI outputs, and overall progress.

In the future, the platform architecture is designed to support workforce reporting and institutional licensing (e.g., for universities or workforce development organizations). Your data helps track job search momentum, traction, and interview activity to measure success.

7. Your Control & Philosophy

We follow the "40 / 60 Principle." You provide the context, preferences, goals, and experiences; the platform provides the structure, recommendations, interpretation, and intelligence.

You retain the ability to review, edit, and correct the information extracted from your resume or generated by our AI tools before it is finalized into your positioning assets.
